List of Ivy League Schools
The Ivy League is a collegiate athletic conference composed of sports teams from eight private institutions of higher education in the Northeastern United States. The conference name is also commonly used to refer to those eight schools as a group. Seven of the Ivy League schools were founded before the American Revolution; Cornell was founded just after the American Civil War. The Ivy League universities are also called the "Ancient Eight" or simply the Ivies.
